Marple Swimming Club Ethos
Marple SC is a competitive swimming club — its primary purpose is to train and maintain a competitive swimming team.
Vital to this are the following:
- We teach young children to swim.
- We gradually teach and coach them through to team level where possible.
- We try to assist each individual to achieve their full potential as a competitive swimmer.
- We recognise that not all members will be able to compete at "First Team" level.
- Team galas are of primary importance.
Parents' role:
- To encourage and assist all members to fulfil their potential.
Additional aims of MSC:
- We provide life-saving training.
- We provide an opportunity for all members and parents to assist with teaching and coaching and to acquire qualifications in teaching and officiating. We should be a friendly and sociable club internally, friendly and sporting externally.
- We have traditionally played a leading role in the local community of swimming clubs.
